Upon recording positive POC tests in EasyReporting, the NHSN receives the information within a short period of time. In most cases, your state and local health departments will request positive tests from the NHSN after they have been submitted to them through your CLIA waiver. Since EasyReporting has no way of notifying local or state health departments, once a positive POC test has been submitted to the NHSN, you are unable to edit the tests directly in EasyReporting. If a test has not been submitted to the NHSN, you can edit the test on the testing page under the tracker menu.
To correct positive POC tests that EasyReporting has already submitted to the NHSN and should be negative, please follow these steps:
- Remove the positive tests from the NHSN.
- Notify your local and/or state health departments about the positive tests that were correct in the NHSN.
- Upon completion of steps 1 and 2, inform EasyReporing that there are tests that need to be changed from positive to negative. Include the date of the test, the name of the person who was tested, and if they were a resident or staff member.
